Profit from the advantages of the LAMIPRESS® as our client
Contract production at Fotoverbundglas Marl GmbH is a very good opportunity to test the quality of LAMIPRESS® on a real project. We have been active in the glass industry for 30 years and can rightly call ourselves the specialists for laminated glass.
Many of our regular customers appreciate our services when it comes to highly special laminates. We would also be pleased to support you as an external partner in case of problems and new challenges by providing you with reliable assistance. For ten years now, we have been relying on our own in-house technology for production – the LAMIPRESS® VARIO.
We are also happy to act as a service provider for you and look forward to receiving your inquiry. To give you an idea of what is possible with the LAMIPRESS®, we have compiled some examples below.
Example project #1
Laminated glass with eight PVB foils and a fine-mesh 4 mm thick steel mesh
The heart of the job in this case was the perfect venting of the LSG with the LAMIPRESS®, so that no air pockets are created. The additional challenge was that we only had one try. The steel mesh had a value of € 10,000 and – for economic reasons – no replacement material was available. The customer was very satisfied with the end product and used our service for further special composites.
Example project #2
Successful cooperation between glass art and glass craft 1/2
During a visit to a gallery in Düsseldorf, a joint project between the artist Ekaterina Moré and us had emerged. The desire for more durability of the colours in combination with glass brought the idea to work with art in combination. The challenge was to process the acrylic paints used, which were applied in several layers (up to 20 colour samples) and never ran evenly, perfectly in the compound. The work of art was 2.00 x 1.00 meters in size and was made by the artist as a unique piece just for the composite.
Example project #3
Successful cooperation between glass art and glass craft 2/2
The artist Valentin Vitanov, on the other hand, produced his paintings directly in our production hall (clean room) on PVB foils, which were then joined. The special thing about these two projects was to participate in the creation of unique works of art.
Example project #4
80 m² rock crystal surface meets 10 m² LAMIPRESS® production area
A wealthy entrepreneur from England asked for the processing of a rock crystal. This was later to be used in his home as wall decoration and door panels. The challenge: to process organic material (including resins and lime) in a composite. Added to this was the continuous grain, which was cut from one block and had to be produced in composite units measuring 2.00 x 1.00 metres. Here, it was necessary to combine absolute experience with a sure instinct. No composite was allowed to be faulty or damaged.
Example project #5
New product ideas of a leading glass group found their production process in the experienced middle class
They have known each other for many years, among other things through their cooperation for the automotive industry. Trust is a top priority! We were therefore asked to test the feasibility of a new product idea on the LAMIPRESS® (suitable for mass production). Under the supervision of the customer, various production tests were carried out within two months. Immediately available evaluations, additional data diagrams, various tables and constructive technical discussions led to absolute customer satisfaction. He very quickly recognized the advantages of this new composite process. The first LAMIPRESS® worth €340,000 was ordered within four months of the enquiry. This was our fastest order to date and shows the value of our LAMIPRESS®.
Example project #6
Coffee beans not only for the palate
A glass dealer, known to us for many years, who maintains business contacts to Africa, came to visit us. Over a cup of coffee together he put 1 kilogram of coffee beans on the table. A café in Nairobi was to be equipped with a new counter measuring 3.50 x 1.20 metres. For this purpose, 1 kilogram of coffee beans were to be processed as a design in the compound. Coffee beans should not be underestimated, as they are about 8 mm thick. A test with 0.50 x 0.50 metres of standard glass and 15 foils on the LAMIPRESS® sealed the order and in our production hall it smelled like a roasting house. After completion, the glass left our factory for transport by sea freight.
